Unit 1B Read and write第六课时
 
Teaching aims:
1.To learn, speak, read and write some sentences: Is she quiet? No she isn’t. She’s very active. Is she strict? Yes she is. but she’s very kind.
2.To encourage Ss to have good cooperation with each other.
Teaching main and difficult points:
To learn, speak, read and write some sentences.
Teaching steps:
Step 1. Preparation:
1.Listen to the tape and sing the song: Sing My new teacher.
2.Free talk.
Eg: T: Who’s your art teacher.S1:Miss Li.
T:Is she young? S1:Yes,she is. She is pretty.
T:Is she active?S1:No,she isn’t, she’s quiet.
Check several pairs of Ss.
3.Show words cards. Revise the following words:
Ss read: university student young funny strict smart active
(露出部分单词图片猜读单词)
Let Ss spell some words.
Step 2. Pre—reading:
Show a photo of Jim’s young math teacher on the screen. and say: This is Jim’s new math teacher:
Let Ss describe her. Encourage Ss to speak more.
Eg: S1:She is young and pretty.
S2: She is kind.
S3:She’s very active.
T: Yes, She’s kind. She’s very active.
Students all like her. Her class is so much fun.
Teach Ss to read : Her class is so much fun.
Step 3 In—reading:
1. General reading:
Play the tape twice.
Ask: What’s the math teacher like?
Ss read the dialogue quickly and find the answer.
2.Detailed reading :Ss read the dialogue carefully ,answer the sentences “yes” or “no”.
Jim has a new math teacher. (  )
She’s young and pretty.    (  )
She’s quiet.             (  )
She’s not strict.          (  )
3. Let Ss read the dialogue again and finish the questions on page 9.
Check the answers orally. Then Ss write down important sentences.
4. Play the tape. Listen and repeat. Then read aloud in pairs.
 
Step 4 Post—reading:
1. Put some photos of their teachers on the Bb.
T: Who’s Mr Yan/ ?  Ss look carefully and point to the teacher ,then describe him or her.
Eg :(Point to the right photo) This is Mr Yan ,he’s our music teacher ,he’s tall and strong ,he’s active.
2. Let Ss show photos of their father or mother ,describe him or her:
Eg: My father is a driver.
He’s tall and strong.
He’s smart , he’s very kind.
I like my father.
Ss work in groups , describe their father or mother.
Step 5 Progress.
1. Sum—up
2. Do exercises.
3. Homework.
Write down the important sentences three times.
Describe your Chinese teacher to your friends.
